My boyfriend shot these photos of me when we were in Palm Beach a few weeks ago visiting his family. I thought, what could be a more perfect for palm beach than these outrageously amazing palm print bermuda shorts? Nothing, actually. How fabulous are they? Palm leaf prints are going to be my "thing" this summer, I already know it. 

Also, these Sam Edelman sling-backs? Snake print, metallic heel? I mean, come on....they're perfect and ridiculously comfortable.

Usually throughout the winter I spend my time trying to figure out how to pull off dresses and pencil skirts, sometimes sans tights, despite sub zero temperatures in the city. However, this season - with its exceptionally disturbingly freezing temperatures - I've decided to become BFF with the statement pant. Animal print, sequin, velvet, faux leather, wide leg, high waisted, neon green, pastel pink, literally anything you can think of - from cook prints and patterns, to bright colors or cool textures, I've fallen in love and I don't care who knows it. There are so many great options for fun pants  just about anywhere you chose to shop and it truly does help combat those winter closet blues. Plus, you can layer them with tights underneath for extra warmth during those freezing months and then wear them in the spring and fall without the thermal layer. I've had a much easier time befriending the winter season when I'm able to look down at the snow and see leopard print ankle biters or sequin track pants cascading down my legs, instead of frost bite. I'd definitely recommend it.

One of my favorite things to do in New York (or any city for that matter) is finding balconies, rooftops, porches, etc to perch up and visit in. To me, there really is nothing better. You get to see the city from a completely different standpoint and environment, and - sometimes - after a long day's work or fighting for your life on the New York City subways during peak hours, it really reminds you why you love the city so much.  Looking up you see a beautiful scape of skyscrapers and older "historied" buildings, all with the most beautiful architectural feel. And looking down you get a view of the New Yorkers and city visitors buzzing around. With Manhattan being so small, you will usually find some sort of views of the rivers, too. It is truly a favorite weekend activity and above is a favorite weekend outfit.

If the snow falls in the city, and everyone is there 
wearing fabulous winter coats through the storm,
 does it ever really matter?

 I have an obsession with coats. Like, a sickening obsession. I feel like they are the "forgotten" part of the outfit, yet they actually make or break the outfit in the end. Think about it...if you've ever worn a fantasic novelty coat, or a coat in a bright hue or cool shape, you've 100% gotten a compliment on it. Enter: this absolutely swoon-worthy Zara wrap coat. I thought about this for days and days and days before I purchased it. And in the end, it really came down to one thing: one woman's comment when I was trying it on in the store: "You look like Olivia Pope." Hi. I'm done. It came home with me that afternoon. 

I think it's sometimes difficult to argue the investment of coats since they are technically only around for one season: winter - but if you really think about it you're wearing them every single day, all season long. You probably wear your coat more than you do other items that are wearable for multiple seasons. So trust me on this, they're worth it. I worked this one all fall long, and in the winter, I layer it over a leather moto-jacket for extra warmth. Absolutely worth the investment, not to mention I feel like the queen of the Gladiators every time I wear it.
