HELLO EVERYONE,
Apparently something came up last minute at Travel and Leisure and Vogue Travel and my feature articles were cancelled (psh, magazines these days...)...so instead of documenting my travels for those publications, I will be doing so here.
Enjoy,
Emily
THURSDAY
9:30PM - Take-Off! We took Iceland Air with one 1-hour stopover in Reykjavik. Flight attendants on Iceland Air are perfection - they wear scarves, skirts, poncho jackets (!!!!) and adorable caps. Iceland Air planes are also amazing - almost better than JetBlue (shh!!) they have HD touch screen TV's, with so many free movies and shows, etc. The flights were perfect.

FRIDAY:
12:30PM - Landing! (6:30PM USA Time) We both slept on the plane and woke-up ready to take on the day in Amsterdam! We had the hotel pick us up at the airport and it went seamlessly. We hopped in our van and were delivered to the hotel (buy a decently cute man in a suit - sry Zach love u).
1:00PM - Arrival at the Hotel! We are staying at the Park Hotel in Amsterdam - it is right in the museum district so we have all the popular museums (Van Gogh Museums, Rijksmuseum, Moco Museum) - great place to stay. It is on the outskirts of all of the canals, but you can see them from the hotel window, so its a great area.
We couldn't check-in when we arrived, so we decided to take a walk around the block. Behind us is the luxury shopping street (I didn't plan this, I swear...or maybe I did). In front of us is all of the canals - which we decided to venture into. We went to a Cafe (NOT a coffeeshop...cafes are coffee, coffeeshops are weed, BE WARNED). We order some coffee and pancakes (a delicacy here in Amsterdam - I believe they are made with buckwheat...must do more investigation).
3:00PM: After we ate we went back to the hotel and checked into the room. The room is perfect and has the most DELICIOUSLY comfortable bed of all time. It has a desk and a TV and closet. The bathroom is large with black marble tiles and a rain shower (HOLLAH) - great for us.
5:00PM: After getting settled in the room, showering and unpacking, we went out on the town. We had a canal cruise scheduled for anytime between 5-9, so we moseyed down to the canal, popping into stores along the way. Our two favorites: a cheese store (Amsterdam Cheese Store) and an ice cream store (forget the name) were our favorites (obviously there is a dairy situation going on here). We taste-tested at both places and purchased some snacks to take with us on the canal cruise. We walked the streets and looked in peoples windows (they leave their blinds up - it's a THING).
